Hi everyone,
We are going to begin taking group photos for the recital program book next week. The list is posted on the website calendar, as well as at the studio. More dates/classes will be posted as costumes arrive. Students must have hair done, & can find out how to do that by asking your teachers. The photos are taken sometime during class, so please just bring your costume w/you. You will still have your regular classes. Also, we have a list of students who do not have signed publicity forms. If you DO NOT wish to have your child's photo in the recital program, you don't need to sign this form. However, if you DO wish to see your child's photo in the program, please obtain a form from the studio, & return it asap. We do not want to leave anyone out of the program. Students who will not be performing will also be photographed for the program.
The annual Opening Number Rehearsal will take place on May 1 at 1pm up at the Norwin Middle School parking lot. This too is listed on the calendar on our website. In previous years, we have worn the opening costumes to practice in. But, being that this is outside & the opening costumes for many classes are also to be used for other classes, we will not be wearing them this year. However, since we will take a whole studio photo at the end of the rehearsal, I would like everyone dressed a little professionally. Therefore, please wear either a plain leotard & shorts, or a plain tank top & shorts. Since we will be outside, please DO NOT wear dance shoes! You must all wear tennis shoes! No open toed shoes/flip flops/slip-ons/etc. Hair can just be neatly pulled into a pony tail.
Please be aware, if you wish to place a business or patron ad in our recital book, you have until April 2 to do so. I have only received a few ads. I have, however, received payment from a few, but not an ad to go along with it. You may email your ads to me, personally, or to ads@dancinjsstudio.com. Payment can be dropped in to the box at the studio, along with your order form. All ads will appear in black & white, with the exception of the cover ads. Cover ads have already been filled, & no more can be accepted this year.
Candace Lang Photography will be at the studio on Saturday, April 30 to take professional photos for your personal enjoyment. This is NOT required, but many people like to have their dancer's photo taken in costume each year. More information can be found on the TV stand. A sign up sheet is posted on the bulletin board. Candace is asking that pre-payments are made prior to the photo date. There are order forms also on the TV stand.
There is a lot of important information located in the studio waiting area. Please gather it up as it is all very helpful. Currently, the Winter/Spring newsletter is there, some information for the 2012 cruise, a wonderful information packet courtesy of Tammy Sullivan, professional photography info, etc, etc. We want to try to make your dance experience an enjoyable one, & do the best we can to eliminate the stress. Also, all newsletters from throughout the year are posted on our website. We are constantly updating the website, so that you can be up to date with all important information. Please do not hesitate to ask questions. We will do our best to assist you anyway we can.
